Obituary: Florence Duras

Florence M. Duras, age 86, of Lemont, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018. She was born on October 3, 1931, in Chicago. The daughter of Joseph and Blanche Turkowski and stepdaughter of Rita Turkowski.

Duras was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by three daughters, Debra (Ronald) Duras, Susan (Ken) Scott, and Mary (Glenn) Pasiewicz; one son, Joseph Duras; five grandchildren, Andrew (Mallory) Scott, Tara (Brian) McFadden, Katie (Adam) McMahon, Brian Pasiewicz and Skylar Miller; great grandchildren Chloe and Nicholas McMahon; brother, Joseph Turkowski; and sisters, Pat (Frank) Gzradziel and Carol Turkowski.

Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Duras; her father, Joseph Turkowski; mother, Blanche Turkowski; and stepmother Rita Turkowski.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 5, with a visitation from 10:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m.at the Sacred Heart Chapel at Our Lady of Victory Convent 11400 Theresa Drive, Lemont. Interment SS. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, make donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
