Obituary: Linda Schmilke

Linda H. Schmilke (Borre), age 72, of Lemont, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, May 20, 2019, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Nov. 27, 1946 in Hickory Hills, the daughter of George and Helen Borre.

A graduate of Carl Sandburg High School in 1964. Linda married her high school sweetheart, Donald Schmilke in 1967. Together, they had four daughters. Linda worked at General Motors for 30 years. She enjoyed gardening, long walks and spending time with her family.

Survived by her loving husband, Donald of 52 years; four daughters, Vanessa (Mike) Harazin, Valerie (Rick) Kaatz, Donna (Bryan) Willis and Lynn (Pat) Kelly; eight grandchildren, Donald, Daniel, Matthew and Angela (Harazin), Cara and Emma (Kaatz), Jacob (Willis), Patrick (Kelly); great granddaughter, Mckenna (Harazin); 10 brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her mother, father, her brothers Ronald and Donald Borre and sister Elizabeth.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2019, from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C., 108 Illinois Street, Lemont. Funeral service will take place on Friday, May 24, 2019, 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home to St. James at Sag Bridge Church, 10600 Archer Ave., Lemont, for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, 7200 Archer Road, Justice.
