Obituary: Merry Lynne “Mimi” Gray

Merry Lynne “Mimi” Gray, nee Sladky, 70, resident of Lemont, was welcomed into the arms of God on Aug. 24. Graduate of Marymount College (1968) in Tarrytown, New York. Loving mother of Tim (Sandra) and Daniel; beloved grandmother of Henry and Vivian; proud daughter of the late Louis (late Ann) Sladky; adored sister of the late Louanne Lifka; fond aunt and godmother to David Lifka, Chris (Tammy) Lifka, Matt (Jeannie) Lifka, and Philip (Stacy) Lifka; and dearest great-aunt to Lindsay, Tyler, Philip, Matthew, Adam, Justin, Nathan, Andrew, Hailey and Elizabeth.

Many thanks to Michelle Fischer for her compassionate care. Eternally thankful for Dr. Sunil Narula and the entire team at University of Chicago Cancer Center at Silver Cross Hospital. Appreciation to Dr. Arla, Dr. Kaplan, Silver Cross Home Health, Hope and Friendship Ministries of Lemont, Rehab Institute of Chicago at Silver Cross Hospital, ATI Physical Therapy in Lemont, and Joliet Area Community Hospice for all their love, encouragement, guidance and support.

Lying in state Saturday, Aug. 26, from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Church, 605 State St. Lemont. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Mimi’s memory to University of Chicago Cancer Center at Silver Cross Hospital, 1850 Silver Cross Blvd. New Lenox, IL 60451.
