Obituary: Rosarita Hennebry

Rosarita A. Hennebry, age 99, born Sept. 2, 1917, passed away Aug. 12, 2017. Lifelong resident of Lemont. Graduated from St. Patrick Grammar School in 1931 and St. Francis Academy, Joliet 1935. She completed and acquired a Certificate of Music at the Joliet Musical College. Employed by General Motors Corp. starting March 26, 1936 and retired as an Executive Secretary April 1, 1987.

She did volunteer work during World War II. She was Music Director and Organist for St. Patrick Parish, Lemont, for many years. She belonged to the Lemont Historical Society, the Joliet Business and Professional Women’s Club and St. Patrick’s Friendship Club.

Beloved daughter of the late Patrick and Anna, nee Ray. Preceded in death by her brothers, Edward J., Patrick F., Thomas B. Raymond (infancy), and Ray A.; and her sisters, Helen M. Sloan, Anna Gertrude (infancy), and Loretta G. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and great-great nieces and nephews.

Visitation Friday, 3–9 p.m. at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. 108 Illinois St. Lemont. Lying in state Saturday, Aug. 19, from 9 a.m. until time of Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Parish, 200 Illinois St. Lemont. Interment St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Patrick Parish or Alvernia Manor, 13950 Main St. Lemont, IL 60439.
