Obituary: ​Valerie May Brunette

Valerie May Brunette nee Palmer, age 40, of Lemont, passed away unexpectedly June 25. Cherished daughter of Barbara (Jack) Jaglowski; dearest mother of Kayla Gabriela Grajeda and PFC Paige E. Sleigher, U.S. Marine Corps; adored sister of Doreen (Art) Flores, Lesli Prascsak, Jason Palmer and Jaclyn (Diego) Jaglowski-Aguirre; fond aunt of several nieces and nephews; and best friend of Tom Heinz.

She attended the former Mt. Assisi High School and went on to attain her Bachelor's in English, with a focus on Education from Governor’s State University, and an Associate’s degree in graphic design from Robert Morris College. Some of her hobbies were fishing, cooking, reading, writing stories and dancing. She also choreographed the play “Grease” during her time at Mt. Assisi. She had a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh. She will be dearly missed.

Visitation Thursday, June 29 from 3 – 9 p.m. at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. 108 Illinois St., Lemont. Funeral services Friday, June 30, 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment private.
