Old Quarry Cheer Team Wins IESA State Championship

Lemont finished with a score of 96.63, beating out second place Frankfort's Hickory Creek which had a score of 95.63, according to IESA.

LEMONT, IL — After an undefeated regular season, the Old Quarry Middle School cheerleading team has captured yet another championship at the IESA Class 3A state competition.

Lemont finished with a score of 96.63, beating out second place Frankfort's Hickory Creek which had a score of 95.63, according to IESA.

Old Quarry has captured state championships in the medium team division in 2024, 2023, 2020, 2019 and 2018. It placed second in 2022, 2017, 2016 and 2015.

Coach Claudia DeSantis said the team put out "their best performance of the season at the state championship, with a flawless routine."

"The pressure was high as they looked to secure their seventh State Championship win, but these ladies took the floor with confidence and poise, scoring the highest score of the entire championship with a 96.63," DeSantis said.
