Old Quarry Middle School competition cheerleaders, coached by Mrs. Laurie Saulys and Mrs. Daryl Mercer, brought home the second place trophy from the annual IESA State Cheerleading Championships held at the Peoria Civic Center. Competing in the very difficult Medium division, the team went against 18 other teams in this division to bring home the second place trophy.
Performing a very difficult, three-minute routine which showcased their skills in tumbling, stunting, dance, cheer, and jumps, the girls gave a solid performance that secured them runner-up status to the state champions from Yorkville.
