Old Quarry Competition Cheer Team Wins Two Tournaments

LEMONT, IL — The Old Quarry Competition Cheer team took home back-to-back tournament wins on Dec. 16 and 17. According to the school, the team took first place and were named Grand Champions on Dec. 16 at the Andrew High School competition. On Sunday, the team won again at a tournament at Joliet West High School.

The team is coached by Laurie Saulys, Daryl Mercer and Claudia DeSantis and consists of eighth graders Skylar Yabush, Tess Sublette, Kaya Myrda, Gracie Meloni, Hailey Divis, McKenzie Maple, Daleigh Johnson-Pawlak, Kynlie Sedivy, and Eileen Flynn; seventh graders Bella Shadden, Danielle Scumaci, Jade Yabush, Kayley Thornton, Breann Mooney, Abby Nagel, Annette Lichacz, and Lily Kozlowski; and sixth graders Fawne Ford and Molly Tucker.
