Illinois Principal Association honors two Old Quarry Students for Excellent Character.

Illinois Principal Association honors two Old Quarry Students for Excellent Character. Isabella Wilton and Megan Hendry were nominated by their 8th grade teachers: Mrs. Osmani and Ms. Janda for displaying excellent character and achieving academic success during their three years at Old Quarry Middle School.
Mrs. Osmani shared the following reflection about Isabella:

Isabella Wilton is always cheerful, cooperative, and consistent, she is a role model for others by exhibiting exemplary behavior and superior academic performance. With impeccable manners, a positive attitude, and a genuine enthusiasm, Isabella always comes to class prepared and ready to learn. Isabella’s teachers have had the pleasure of watching Isabella excel in her studies as well as remain involved outside the realm of the classroom. In her spare time Isabella participates in Mathletes, tutors students, and volunteers in her community by organizing projects to help others in need. Most recently Isabella attended Argonne National Laboratory’s Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day as well as the Illinois Math and Science Academy Math Competition, placing in the top 2 while at both events. Her motivation, creativity, and passion for learning truly set her apart from her peers!

Megan Hendry is an exemplary student whose academic success and incredible character have earned her admiration from both her peers and teachers. A strong work ethic and natural curiosity accompany Megan to class every day. She tackles each assignment with critical thinking, creativity and tremendous effort; however, it is her optimism and kindness that become contagious in the classroom. With insight and compassion, Megan is always willing to help her peers, acting as both a leader and a role model. In addition, Megan is a dedicated athlete and active member of the National Junior Honor Society and Student Council.
