Old Quarry Middle School Announces Essay Contest Winners
Students answered the prompt of "What Freedom Means to Me."

LEMONT, IL — Old Quarry Middle School is pleased to announce the winners of the 2015 Patriot’s Pen essay contest sponsored by the VFW. The following students were chosen by the Lemont VFW 5819 for their essay responses to the prompt What Freedom Means to Me: 6th grade students Megan Hendry and Gracie Meloni, 7th grade students Caden Brennan and Krista Waynick, and 8th grade student Bridget McGuffin. The students and their families were honored along with the Patriot Pen winners from other schools at the VFW on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015. Each student received a certificate and a $100 award.
