September 8th, 2018 the Old Quarry Middle School PTO hosted a fun fitness event for sd113A families. Parent Teacher Organization President, Theresa Vasvery organized a 5k Color Run as a fitness and fundraising event. Students and parents ran a 5k at Bambrick Park and along the running path volunteers would spray the participants with liquid colors. The cold weather did not stop the over 75 participants, and there were plenty of smiles as participants finished the race. In addition to the Color Run, Sd113a hosted local vendors that support healthy living. Principal Billingsley said, " students and parents had an excellent time, and he is happy that the PTO looks for alternative methods of fundraising that promote healthy living instead of selling candy and food."
