Old Quarry Students Honor Veterans

LEMONT, IL — Old Quarry Middle school hosted over 20 veterans on Nov. 10 as a way to show school appreciation for the sacrifice that was demonstrated by the brave men and women who served the country. The school said several students presented thank you letters, short presentations, poems and essays.

OQMS PTO and Lemont parents donated gift cards to Dunkin' Donuts, and each veteran received an Old Quarry T-shirt and coffee mug. According to the school, a few veterans addressed students, thanking them for the warm reception, and many commented on the respectful manners OQMS displayed during the ceremony.
