Old Quarry Warriors Get Back to the Books

School's back in session for Old Quarry students.

Old Quarry Middle School welcomed back students on Thursday, August 21. Even through the lightning, thunder, and downpour, spirits couldn’t be dampened as staff and students were reunited for the 2015 school year.

“Not only were the staff happy to see the students back at school, but after speaking to many students it was apparent the students were also happy to be back,” said Mrs. Shirley Kleehammer, Assistant Principal.

Students spent the first day getting to know their new schedules, meeting their teachers, and putting away supplies in classrooms. They participated in “getting to know you” activities and learned the routines of each class. The counselors took time to meet with the new students to OQMS, taking them on tours, and answering any questions they had about their new school.
