Old Quarry Middle School Recognizes March Students of the Month
Anne Marie Pesavento- 8th grade March Student of the Month
The red team would like to recognize AnnMarie Pesavento as the March Student of the Month. Annie exemplifies the four core values at Old Quarry Middle School. Annie is a hard worker in and out of the classroom. She is conscientious about her classwork and always gives her best effort to achieve academic excellence. Annie is a good friend who is always willing to help out a classmate or adult when asked. She comes to class each day with a great attitude and a smile on her face. We are fortunate to have Annie in class and appreciate her efforts. When asked what she likes best about school Ann Marie stated, "I love being able to help other students and learn new things every day." Her goals for the future include: do well in high school and achieve high grades in high school and college."
Josef Herout- 8th grade March Student of the Month
The 8th-grade black team selected Josef Herout as the March student of the month. He is a student of the utmost integrity. He is a member of the Art Club. As a student, he excels in each class. All of his teachers speak very highly of his work ethic and drive for self-betterment. Josef is the type of student that is quiet but engages in thought-provoking discussions, as well as going the extra mile to accomplish his tasks to the best of his ability. When asked what he likes best about school Josef stated, "I like that OQ isn't very strict, but there are still rules and consequences. There are plenty of opportunities for fun and education." Josef's future goals include doing well in school and going to college. However, he is not sure what he would study in college.

Abbey Lakickas- 6th grade March Student of the Month
The 6th-grade red team selected Abbey Lakickas as the March student of the month. Abbey is a hard-working student who strives to improve every day. She is always willing to lend a hand to a classmate or staff member. She demonstrates the four core values at OQ daily. Keep up the great work Abbey! When asked what Abbey liked best about our school she stated, "I like all of my teachers and classes." Her future goals include being accepted and attending UCLA or UNC and becoming a dentist.
Martin Dumbliauskas 6th grade March student of the Month
The 6th-grade black team selected Martin Dumbliauskas as the March student of the month. Martin strives to do his absolute best work every day. He is a positive role model for his peers and attentive in class. He is kind and considerate to all students, collaborating effectively with any partner or group. He is truly someone who represents warrior pride every day in his work, behavior, and interactions with others. Congratulations! When Martin was asked what he likes best about OQMS, he stated, "I like meeting my friends and making new friends." His future goals include being accepted to MIT to study computer science and making the junior team for Lemont swim team.

Evie Gilmartin- 7th grade March Student of the Month
The 7th-grade team is pleased to award the student of the month for March to Evie Gilmartin. Evie is a young lady who exhibits responsibility, dedication, and kindness throughout her day. She is consistent in having her assignments turned in, she works cooperatively with groups, and she is always there to help a classmate. This student shows respect when interacting with her peers and teachers. Congratulations to Evie Gilmartin. When Evie was asked what she likes best about OQMS, she stated, "I like that I can get along with my teachers and laugh together."Her future goals include improving in her reading and math classes.
Jack Crispo- 7th grade March Student of the Month
Jack Crispo has been nominated for Student of the Month to represent the 7th grade Black Team. Jack has been a great role model and leader both in and out of the classroom. In the classroom, Jack shows leadership while working in groups by helping maintain focus and asking questions to clarify what has been shared. He is patient with others and encourages all group members to participate. He communicates and interacts with respect towards his classmates and teachers. Jack's positive attitude and perseverance are additional qualities that provide a good model for all students at Old Quarry Middle School. When Jack was asked what he likes best about OQMS, he stated, " Every teacher at OQMS wants us to learn the most that we can." Jack's future goals include being a successful person in life.
