Outbreak Reported At Franciscan Village's Mother Theresa Home
Outside visitors are restricted and admissions are on hold due to the "outbreak," Franciscan Ministries' website states.
LEMONT, IL — Franciscan Village's Mother Theresa Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lemont is currently restricting outside visitors and has a hold on admissions due to an outbreak of the coronavirus, Franciscan Ministries wrote on its website.
In the most recent update on its website on Oct. 9, a letter from President and CEO Judy Amiano states that weekly widespread testing continues at the facility.
"This past week, a total of 258 tests were conducted in the Healthcare Center, including residents and staff members," the letter states. As a result of the testing, two new residents and two new associates tested positive for the coronavirus.

On Oct. 2., a letter from Amiano states that seven residents in Mother Theresa and seven associates, including five direct care workers in Mother Theresa, had tested positive.
In the letter on Oct. 9, Amiano wrote that another round of widespread testing is planned for this week, and that new admissions remain suspended at the Healthcare Center.

"Franciscan Village continues to monitor associates and residents, following CDC-regulated standards for infection control and to prevent any spread of the virus. The staff continues to maintain proper PPE recommendations and protocol, as defined by the local and state health departments and the CDC," the letter states.
