Over An Inch Of Rain, Thunderstorms In The Forecast For IL
The first round of heavy rainfall will begin Sunday night and end Monday afternoon.

The snow may have melted, but now the Chicago area has several rounds of rain on the way. According to the National Weather Service, widespread showers and possible some thunderstorms will develop Sunday night and into Monday. Heavy rainfall is possible which could lead to some localized urban and small stream flooding.
The Joliet and Chicago areas could see up to an inch and a half of rain, according to the NWS. The rain will gradually decrease through the day on Monday, and the high will be at 62 degrees.
An active weather pattern will continue through the week, according to the NWS. There will be several chances for rain and thunderstorms. Despite the rain and storms, temps will be pretty mild in the 60s and even reaching up to the 70s on Wednesday.

- MONDAY: Rain, mainly before 3 p.m. The rain could be heavy at times. High near 56. Southeast wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
- MONDAY NIGHT; A 30 percent chance of showers after 5am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. North northwest wind around 5 mph becoming northeast after midnight.
