Person Displays Firearm Outside Home Near LHS: Cops

LEMONT, IL — A person displaying a firearm outside a home near Lemont High School's campus was reported on Thursday afternoon, police said. Police received the report at 3 p.m., and multiple officers arrived at the scene within a minute of the report.

Police said when officers arrived on scene, they quickly determined that there was no imminent danger to anyone on campus, and told school officials that no lockdown activities were necessary for those who still were on campus.

Police said the person who produced the firearm was taken into custody. Police continue to investigate the situation.
