Girl, 17, Was Wearing Headphones When Struck by Train: Sheriff
The pedestrian has been identified as Alexa Turner, of Lemont Township.

A 17-year-old girl was wearing headphones when she was struck and killed by a Metra train Wednesday evening near Lemont.
Sheriff’s police said Thursday the death of Alexa Turner appeared to be accidental. The teen was on the tracks near Main Street between Boyer Street and Kotlin Road, when the engineer of the Metra Heritage Corridor train spotted her and attempted to brake.
Cook County Sheriff’s police are leading the investigation.
