Peter Pan Takes Flight in Lemont

Little Mountain Community Theatre announces their Decade of Dreams 10th Anniversary Cast and Production Team for the classic musical, “Peter Pan’” Tickets are on sale now at www.littlemountaintheatre.org.

“Peter Pan” is a timeless tale of the boy who wouldn't grow up. Peter and his mischievous fairy, Tinkerbell, take the Darling children–Wendy, John and Michael–on a magical adventure across the stars to Neverland. There they meet the loveable Lost Boys and powerful Warriors led by Tiger Lily and have a run-in with the villainous Captain Hook, his sidekick Smee and the bungling band of pirates.

Based on a play by Sir J.M. Barrie, “Peter Pan” features the music of Morris (“Moose”) Charlap and Jule Styne, with lyrics by Carolyn Leigh, Betty Comden and Adolph Green. It was originally staged by Jerome Robbins in 1954 with Mary Martin playing the title role of Peter, for which she won a Tony award. Other notable performers in the titular role include Sandy Duncan and former gymnast Cathy Rigby.

Little Mountain’s production of “Peter Pan'' includes 53 actors ranging in age from 11 to 68 years of age. They come from all over the suburbs–as far north as Gurnee and south as Tinley Park. Samantha Keret takes flight as Peter Pan, and the dual role of the nefarious Captain Hook and Mr. Darling is played by Matt Weaver. The Darling Family is rounded out with Dylan Rhodes as Wendy, Billy Zabilka as John, Finnegan Loughry as young Michael, and Sara Carlson as Mrs. Darling. Gigi Garza plays Wendy’s daughter, Jane.

Neverland is inhabited by three separate groups of characters–The Lost Boys, The Warriors, and The Pirates. The Lost Boys include Phoebe Carlson, Jonah Dutton, Brooke Ferricks, Gigi Garza, Jack Garza, Joy Haddleton, Madeline Jeleniewski, Mia Jeleniewski, Landen Miller, Amy Rajsky, Ana Utvic, and Tati Utvic.

The Warriors are led by Tiger Lily, played by Mary Ann Shurilla. Her fierce warriors include Allie Budney, Rebecca Dutton, Erin Fagan, Maggie Hughes, Emma Hutchison, Daniel Irace, Katie Karsky, Michelle LaFranzo, Jordan McCully, Maria Purpura, Darby Schober, Gaby Sorrentino, Stone TeSelle, Ana Treanor, and Krista Waynick.

The final group of Neverland is the dastardly and sometimes bumbling band of Pirates, with Bea Rothstein playing Smee. The other pirates are Robert Budney, Sara Carlson, Andy Emmerich, Kevin Erwin, Johnny Greanias, Kyle Halkerston, Christopher Hutchison, Jay Hruska, Jake LaFranzo, Tess O’Brien, Aidan Rabouldt, Ellie Schober, Caroline TeSelle, and Shannon Webb.

The Creative Team of Little Mountain Community Theatre is led by Director Heather Hutchison, and produced by Sandy Doebert and Kate Loeffler.
