PHOTOS: Lemont Park District Preschoolers Celebrate Arbor Day

Preschool students at the celebrated Arbor Day with their families Friday as a small plot of land was dedicated to the program's class of 2011.

The short ceremony was held in front of , 16028 W. 127th St., where park district employees dedicated new trees, a birdhouse and a small water fountain to the new preschool, Bird Haven.

Students and their families were treated to a hot dog lunch and a visit with Seamore the Eagle.

Every year on the last Friday of April, millions of trees are planted across the United States in honor of Arbor Day.
