Power Outages Possible, Wind Advisory Issued For Illinois
Winds could gust up to 45 mph at times Tuesday, and there is also a potential for isolated thunderstorms.
ILLINOIS — As the remnants of tropical storm Cristobal approach the area, gusts up to 45 mph are expected, forecasters said. The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory from noon to 10 p.m. for Lake, Kane, DuPage, La Salle, Kendall, Grundy, Cook, Will and Kankakee counties.
The weather service said wind could blow around unsecured objects, tree limbs could be blown down, and some power outages could occur. Travel will also be difficult for those in high-profile vehicles.

The weather service said there is also a chance of some isolated thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon that also could carry the threat of a brief tornado or damaging wind.

With the possible storms comes the chance of heavy rain, the weather service said. Widespread flooding is not expected, but there could be road ponding and localized flooding.
