The Quarry Pub And Grill Opening Soon In Lemont

The Quarry, a new bar and grill in Lemont, could open by the end of the month.

LEMONT, IL — Many Lemont residents are aware of the work that has been going on over the past few months at the old bowling alley location. What you may not know is that The Quarry Pub and Grill could be open by the end of February or early March.

The Quarry, located at 1015 State St., will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, and also feature an entertainment space. Owner Bob Taft said the location will feature two separate areas, one will be a bar and grill area, and the other will be an entertainment area, including eight lanes of bowling.

The Quarry will be the fifth location for Taft, who also owns Q Bar Glendale Heights, Q Billiards Downers Grove, Q Bar Darien and Q Bar Plano.

Taft said the entertainment area will also have 16 pool tables, indoor bean bags, dart boards and video games. There is a second bar in the entertainment area and there will also be a stage area for entertainment on the weekend.

The entertainment side of the location will be opening later this year, most likely in the summer. However, Taft said if permits come through on time, they are hoping for a soft opening of the restaurant side by the end of the month.

"The kitchen is ready to go," Taft said. "We just have to build the bar area, hang our TVs, and do a couple other things."

The menu for The Quarry will feature the standard bar and grill fare, but Taft added a lot of their food is home-made, not frozen. There is a full breakfast menu, including pancakes, eggs, and classic breakfast dishes. Lunch and dinner will feature wraps, burgers, pizzas and appetizers.

Taft said future dinners could also include a fish fry or other special items.

When asked why he chose Lemont to open his business, Taft said, "I think it's something that's lacking there, there aren't a lot of entertainment facilities."

He added he's excited to open the location and thinks it will be a great addition to the community.
