Rain Throughout The Week, Temps Back Down To 50s For IL

Rain and maybe some thunderstorms will start the work week off Monday.

ILLINOIS — Rain is possible throughout the work week, starting with storms on Monday. The National Weather Service said a storm system will bring rain and maybe a few thunderstorms to the area Monday. There will also be strong and gusty winds Monday and into Tuesday afternoon. Wind gusts on Tuesday afternoon could be to 40 mph.

The high for Monday is 68 degrees, but temperatures will then drop back to the 50s on Tuesday, which has a high of 55. The weather service said Tuesday and Wednesday should be sunny, but there is then a chance of showers again Wednesday night.

Thursday and Friday both also have a chance of showers, and temps will be near 52 Thursday and 50 Friday, the weather service said.

  • TUESDAY: A 20 percent chance of showers before 1 p.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 52. Breezy, with a west southwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph.
  • TUESDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear, with a low around 39.
  • WEDNESDAY: Mostly sunny, with a high near 59.
  • WEDNESDAY NIGHT: A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 41.
  • THURSDAY: A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 52.
  • THURSDAY NIGHT: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 38.
  • FRIDAY: A slight chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 50.
