Rain Throughout The Week, Temps Near 50 In IL

ILLINOIS — Temperatures in the 50s are expected for most of the week, but rain is also possible. The National Weather Service said rain will spread across the area Monday, and it will be windy with gusts up to 40 mph.

Monday has a high of 57 degrees, while Tuesday will cool slightly with a high of 50 degrees. The weather service said rain is possible Tuesday morning and again Tuesday night.

The rest of the week will play out in a similar fashion, with chances of rain expected Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night. Temps will hover right around 50 degrees Wednesday, while Thursday will be warmer with a high of 56 degrees. Friday will be back down again to 49 degrees and it should be sunny during the day, according to the weather service.

MONDAY NIGHT: Rain, mainly before 2 a.m. Low around 38. Breezy, with a south wind 10 to 20 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

TUESDAY: A 40 percent chance of rain before 8 a.m. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 47. North northwest wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

TUESDAY NIGHT: A chance of rain and snow after 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 34. East wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light east southeast in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

WEDNESDAY: A chance of rain and snow before 9 a.m., then a chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 49. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: A 20 percent chance of rain before 8 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 37.
