Rainy, Cool Weekend Ahead For IL
The rain will continue into the weekend, and temps won't make it past 70 degrees.

The rain of the past few days will most likely continue into this weekend. According to the National Weather Service, rain and a few thunderstorms are expected this afternoon, mainly along and south of I-80. The main threat will be heavy rain and localized flooding, especially after several days of rain.
There are also high waves and dangerous swimming conditions at Lake Michigan beaches, so if you were planning on a beach trip this weekend, please pay attention to the forecast. Flood warnings are also in place for the Fox River, and the river has reached flood stage in Algonquin and Montgomery.
