Registration Now Open for Spring Semester ACT Prep Classes at Lemont HS

Classes begin in February.

Beginning in February, Lemont High School will offer ACT 36, an eight-week test preparation program designed to familiarize students with the ACT. Registration now is open for this program.

The course, which costs $330 for the eight sessions, is open to all Lemont High School juniors, as well as juniors from other area schools. Lemont High School students who have perfect attendance at the end of the program will receive
a $50 rebate on the cost of their registration. The rebate only will be issued to Lemont High School students. Students who miss a course due to illness or an extra-curricular conflict may make up the missed class and still be eligible for the rebate.

Students may choose between two eight-week programs, each of which consists of two-hour weekly sessions that run from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Lemont High School. The first session begins on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, and will meet each Tuesday through March 22. The second session will meet on Wednesdays from February 3 through March 23. Students in both sessions will take a Practice ACT during the week of March 14.

The goal of ACT 36 is to give students the confidence, strategies and content necessary to score their personal best on the ACT. The course does this by familiarizing students with the elements of the ACT, from content and timing to pacing and strategies. The course also reviews difficult concepts, specifically in English and mathematics, and allows students an opportunity to take a practice exam. All ACT 36 instructors are carefully trained and certified.
