Roots & Fences: A Generational Story of Friends, Families and Disabilities

Sharon Duncan, author of Roots and Fences will speak about her story and the stories of her friends and family members with disabilities. You will find the life stories spanning 50 years and situated here in Lemont, and the Chicago area interesting and entertaining, and come away with the realization that all individuals can succeed.
A question/ answer session will follow with book signings by the author. Sharon donates proceeds from book sales to Abide in Me, a Lemont charity which seeks engaged living for individuals with disabilities. Abide in Me will donate to special education and recreational programs in Lemont.
Audience: Anyone that knows and loves individuals with disabilities, teachers, special educators, Adult service providers, ethnographers, counselors, lovers of non fiction,all people no matter their experiences with disability will come away with a new perspective and should find the session entertaining and interesting.
