Route 83, Main Street Development Moves Forward In Lemont

The Village Board approved a final plat of subdivision for the property at Route 83 and Main, which is a part of the redevelopment process.

LEMONT, IL — Plans for a new development at Route 83 and Main Street moved forward at Monday's Lemont Village Board meeting. The Village Board approved the final plat for Colton Subdivision.

"This is a long time coming, this is an exciting subdivision," Economic and Community Development Director Jason Berry said during the meeting.

The final plat of subdivision is not for a residential neighborhood, but is for the approval of subdividing a property at Route 83 and Main Street. The final plat is part of the redevelopment process for this corner, board documents state.

The final plat of subdivision will clean up the several lots, easements and right-of-ways that are at the site. The subdivision creates three new appropriate lots for development, according to board documents.

"This will make way for the sale of Village property, and eventually a Gas N' Wash and retail along Archer Avenue," Berry said.
