Scarecrow Trail, Festival Planned In Lemont
The Scarecrow Festival will be held Oct. 20, and families can walk through the scarecrow trail and vote for their favorite.

LEMONT, IL — Lemont's Scarecrow Trail and festival will return this fall. The theme of this year's trail is "games," and businesses, organizations and families can create their own scarecrow for the trail.
According to the release, you must register for a scarecrow with the Lemont Junior Woman's Club by Sept. 14, and pick-up for scarecrows is also Sept. 14 at the Lemont Community Center, 16300 Alba St. The scarecrows are then due back for the trail on Saturday, Oct. 5. There will be prizes for first, second and third place, as voted on by the community.
As a part of the Scarecrow Trail, the Lemont Junior Woman's Club and the Lemont Township will host Scarecrow Festival on Sunday, Oct. 20 from 2 to 5 p.m.

The event will be held at the Lemont Heritage Woodland Sanctuary and Community Center, 16300 Alba. Organizers said famillies can walk the scarecrow trail and there will be kids crafts, games, a nature trail scavenger hunt, campfire and a hayride.
Scarecrows must be removed from the trail by Nov. 4. If they aren't removed, they will be discarded.
