Scarecrow Trail Hosted By Lemont Junior Woman's Club
Families or organizations can decorate a scarecrow for the Lemont Scarecrow Trail.

LEMONT, IL — The Lemont Junior Woman's Club will once again host the Scarecrow Trail this year at the Lemont Heritage Woodland Sanctuary. According to the club, this year's scarecrow theme is occupations, and the scarecrows will be on the trail from Oct. 9-26.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three scarecrows. You can decorate your scarecrow as the occupation of your choice, such as a police officer, firefighter, doctor, farmer,or soldier. Schools, organizations, youth groups, families and businesses are encouraged to participate.
You can mail entry along with payment by Sept. 20. The cost of a scarecrow is $25 for organizations and families and $50 for businesses. Scarecrows can be picked up at the Lemont Township at 1115 Warner St. on Saturday, Sept. 23 from 10 a.m. to noon. You can then bring your completed scarecrow to the Lemont Township building at 16300 Alba St. between the hours of 8 a.m. to noon on Oct. 7.

According to the club, scarecrow voting starts Oct. 9 and runs through Oct. 26. Winners will be contacted by Oct. 27, and will win a cash prize.
