Senator John Curran to host local blood drive

LEMONT..... On Friday, August 27, State Senator John Curran will host a blood drive in Downers Grove in partnership with Versiti Blood Center.

The blood drive will take place from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM at the Indian Boundary YMCA of Metro Chicago, 711 59th Street, in Downers Grove.

“There is still a significant need for blood donations in this region, so I am happy to partner with the Versiti Blood Center for this important event,” said Sen. Curran. “People who are vaccinated and unvaccinated against COVID-19 can both donate, and each blood donation can save at least three lives. I hope to have a full schedule of donation appointments for this event.”

Those who wish to donate should make sure they have eaten, and should drink plenty of water prior to donating blood. Walk-in appointments are welcome, but appointments are recommended.
