Several Inches Of Snow Possible For IL With Late Season Storm

There is a chance of snow for some of the area on Friday night into Saturday. After the snow ends, the rest of the weekend will be dry.

Although it's nearly April, many towns in the area will be under a winter storm watch for part of this weekend. According to the National Weather Service, a winter storm watch has been issued for Ogle, DeKalb, Kendall, Will, Kankakee and Grundy counties. The watch goes into effect at 10 p.m. Friday until Saturday afternoon.

Heavy snow is possible in those areas, with total accumulations of 3 to 6 inches. Other areas closer to the city could still receive 1 to 3 inches of snow or less than an inch. Further south, some areas could see 6-8 or even 8-10 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service.

After the snow on Saturday, the rest of the weekend will be dry. Sunday will be mostly sunny with a high of 46 degrees, according to the NWS. The start of the work week will be rainy, although warmer. Monday has a high of 53 degrees, but there is a chance of rain.
