Severe Storms With Damaging Winds, Large Hail Possible For IL

The timing for possibly severe storms will be between 2 and 7 p.m.

ILLINOIS — Severe storms are possible on Monday afternoon. The National Weather Service said the timing of these storms will be from 2 to 7 p.m., and storms are moving to the east and northeast.

A broken line of storms near the Mississippi River will move across the area during the early afternoon and will be east of northwest Indiana counties by 7 p.m., the NWS said.

Severe storms are possible areawide, and scattered severe storms could produce large hail and damaging winds up to 60 mph, the NWS said. The strongest thunderstorms could also produce frequent lightning and heavy rain.
