Severe Storms, Big Warmup Headed For Illinois: Work Week Forecast

Even though we are well into fall now, the warm temperatures will return for the first week of October. The warmer weather this week will also bring chances for storms. According to the National Weather Service, there is a limited severe thunderstorm risk on Monday and a limited thunderstorm risk on Tuesday.

Severe storms are possible Monday afternoon or evening, and some storms could produce heavy rainfall and flooding, the NWS said. Monday has a high of 84 degrees, and it will also be windy with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Tuesday will also be warmer with a high of 79 degrees, and there's a chance of storms and showers on Tuesday morning, according to the NWS. Wednesday will be the warmest day of the week, with a high of 87 degrees. During the day, it should be sunny, but there is a chance of storms on Wednesday night.

Thursday also has a chance of storms in the morning, and the high for the day is 78 degrees, according to the NWS. The storms and rain will could stick around on Friday, which has a high of 77 degrees.
