Severe Weather, 90 Degree Temps Coming To IL

After a few days of pleasant weather, the forecast is very active for this upcoming week. There is a limited severe thunderstorm risk on Monday, according to the National Weather Service, and an elevated risk on Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Two rounds of storms will be possible for the area, according to the NWS. The first round will take place Monday night into Tuesday, and there could be heavy rainfall possible with these storms. The second round of storms will hit the area Tuesday afternoon and evening. These storms could also produce heavy rain, but there is also an increased threat that some of these storms could be severe, with strong, damaging winds.

After storms on Tuesday, temperatures and humidity in the area will start to increase. Thursday will have a high of 88 degrees, but heat indices could be in the 90s. According to the National Weather Service, heat indices on Friday and Saturday could be above 100 degrees.
