Snowfall Totals: Here's How Much Snow Illinois Towns Got

Snowfall totals varied across the area, with little to no snow to the north and more than 5 inches in the south suburbs.

ILLINOIS — Snowfall totals varied quite a bit across the Chicago area after a winter storm Wednesday night into Thursday. Areas to the north saw little to no snow, while the south suburbs received 3 to 5 inches.

Light snow will continue into the morning, the National Weather Service said. Thursday afternoon will be mostly dry, before there is a chance of lake effect snow showers Thursday night. Another inch or two of snow is possible for areas affected by lake effect snow.

Snowfall totals have been submitted to the National Weather Service. One suburb got more than 5 inches of snow, while other towns only saw an inch. Here are some snowfall totals for the Chicago area:
