Spring-Like Temps Return After Late-Season Snowfall For IL

Saturday and Sunday will both be in the 50s, and warmer temperatures are also on the horizon.

ILLINOIS — Although we got one last taste of winter, it seems like the spring-like temperatures are set to return already. Snowfall totals after Friday's snow were as high as 3.7 inches in Romeoville and 3 inches at O'Hare, the weather service said.

There is also a potential for patchy fog Friday night. Temperatures will warm up Saturday, which has a high of 57 degrees. The weather service said it will also be windy Saturday with gusts up to 40 mph.

There is a slight chance of showers Sunday, but temperatures will be in the 50s once again. The weather service said Sunday has a high of 57 as well, and it should be mostly cloudy.

FRIDAY NIGHT: Patchy fog after midnight. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 29. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming west southwest in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 10 mph.

SATURDAY: Sunny, with a high near 56. Breezy, with a southwest wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy, with a low around 42. Breezy, with a southwest wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

SUNDAY: A 20 percent chance of showers after 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 55. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming north northeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.

SUNDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy, with a low around 31. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.
