SSCM Basketball Teams Win Emil Tournament At LHS
The SSCM boys basketball team and the girls basketball team both came out on top at the Emil Tournament.
LEMONT, IL — The St. Cyril and Methodius School's boys basketball team and the girls basketball team both came out on top at the Emil Tournament held at Lemont High School on Saturday, Feb. 16.
Both teams are comprised of all eighth graders, and both teams defeated Old Quarry Middle School to win the tournament.
The school said Joe Pender on the St. Cyril Comets was able to score a 3-point basket in the last minute of the game to reduce Old Quarry's lead. Conor Murray then scored the winning basket with six seconds left on the clock. The final score was 26-25.

On the Lady Comets, the school said Grace Ulatowski lead the team with the highest number of points with Angelina McKenna a close second. Anna Benson was a great asset for the team, and won MVP of the game. The final score was 37-35.
