SSCM Volleyball, Soccer Teams End Successful Fall Seasons

Both teams won their respective conferences this fall.

LEMONT, IL — Student athletes at SS. Cyril & Methodius School in Lemont recently wrapped up several successful fall sports seasons. The school's soccer and volleyball programs each had teams take first place in their respective conferences, the school said.

The eighth grade girls' volleyball team, which includes both seventh and eighth grade girls, once again won the South Suburban Catholic Conference title, the school said. This is the sixth straight conference title for St. Cyril's in the eighth grade girls' division.

The team also won the end-of-season conference tournament held at Providence Catholic High School on Oct. 30, the school said.

The school's junior varsity soccer team also took first place in the Southwest Catholic Soccer Association's fall league, the school said. The team, which includes fifth and sixth grade boys and girls, won the championship game by defeating St. Linus on Nov. 1.

The junior varsity team went undefeated in its inaugural season in the league, and kindergarten through fourth grade will begin their inaugural season in the league this spring, the school said.
