St. Al, St. Pat's Takes First, Second At Scholastic Bowl Meet
The teams walked away with a first and second place finish after an enjoyable final round with a score of 146-139.
LEMONT, IL — In the final round of the Nazareth Academy Scholastic Bowl, the two teams from St. Alphonsus/St. Patrick School faced each other. The school said the teams walked away with a first and second place finish after an enjoyable final round with a score of 146-139.
The seventh grade scholastic bowl competition was held on Feb. 6 and 16 area teams competed.
Seventh-grade team members Drea Sarno and Tess O’Brien said, “Our teachers have us well prepared for these competitions. Going into a competition we study and practice. During the event, we are a bit nervous, but it is all worth it when we do so well. We had so much fun in the final round playing against our classmates. There was no pressure to win it was just about laughs.”

Students answer questions in science, math, literature, social studies, and fine arts, as well as a miscellaneous section that covers topics from movies and TV shows.
Team members include Max Schuette, Maddie Skwarek, Tess O’Brien, Matthew Ondracek, Lia Alfonso, Maia Sanchez and Drea Sarno.
