St. Alphonsus / St. Patrick Celtics Football Program to Host Open House

The St. Alphonsus / St. Patrick Celtics Football Program announced that the organization will be hosting an open house and open registration during two upcoming open house events:

Wednesday, May 13

6:30 to 9 p.m at Lemont Part District CORE Fitness Center, 16050 127th St.

Basketball / Gym Court #3

Thursday, May 14

6:30 to 9 p.m.

Lemont Part District CORE Fitness Center, Covington Room

Interested parents and players may register at the open house, meet Celtics’ coaches, see the safety equipment, learn about safety techniques the team teaches and get information on the team and league.

The Celtics Football Team offers an instructional Developmental level for 4th graders, Junior Varsity (JV) for 5th& 6th Graders and Varsity for 7th & 8th Graders. Lemont area students who will be in 4th – 8th grade during the 2015–2016 school year who are enrolled in St. Alphonsus/St. Patrick or St. Cyrils’ Schools, or attend any of the three Parishes’ respective Religious Education (RE) programs are eligible to join the team.

The Celtics emphasize teaching the fundamentals of football, safety, character development and having fun in a positive environment. Highlights of the Celtics Football Team include:

• All Coaches are trained and certified in the NFL sponsored USA Football Heads-Up Football safety and concussion prevention standards and are required to attend training clinics conducted by area high school coaching staffs.
• Top of the line safety equipment that is maintained and inspected annually.
• Home games at Lemont H.S.
• Competes in the Catholic Grade School Conference of Chicago (CGSC), which serves as the primary feeder to high quality academic / athletic schools including Lemont, Brother Rice, Marist, Providence, St. Rita, Montini, Mt. Carmel, and Benet.
• Free summer skills and safety camp July 20–24.
• Convenient practice times and location at Covington Fields on 127th St. in Lemont beginning August 3.
