State Sen. Curran Collects Valentines For Seniors

LEMONT, IL — For the third time, State Senator John Curran will hold a Valentines for Seniors card drive, to provide cheer to seniors in the 41st District, according to a release from his office.

Students, churches, scouting organizations and other community groups can donate homemade or store-bought cards to Curran's office. The cards will then be delivered to assisted living centers, nursing homes, and long-term care facilities across the 41st Senate District, according to a release.

“The district has really stepped up, donating almost 2,000 cards over the last few years,” Curran said in a release. “We hope that all schools, social groups and families will consider donating cards to help spark some special joy for seniors in our community.”

Cards, poems, and other well wishes can be mailed or dropped off to Curran’s District Office at 1011 State Street, Suite 205, in Lemont, until Feb. 10.

Those dropping off cards in-person can place them in the valentine box located inside the office door during business hours, which are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., or in the small mailbox outside the office during off-hours.

“Each senior in these facilities has their own story,” said Curran. “These cards honor those stories and show them that we cherish and appreciate their lives and contributions. I am thankful to every person who takes the time to do this small thing that sparks such great joy.”
