Stonecutters Mural In Downtown Lemont Undergoes Restoration

The mural was last restored in July 2000.

LEMONT, IL — The Stonecutters mural in Budnik Plaza in downtown Lemont is undergoing restoration for the first time in over 20 years.

The mural was last restored in July 2000, according to the Village. Mural artist Caryl Yasko and her team are restoring the work.

Yasko originally painted the mural in 1975, village board documents state.

According to village board documents, the work is being done to prevent against further deterioration of the mural.

The project is expected to last a month, the Village said. The public is welcome to stop by and visit the artists.
