Storms Likely, Warmer Temps Return To IL
Severe storms are possible on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.

ILLINOIS — Warmer, more summer-like temperatures will return this weekend, but so will the chance of thunderstorms. The National Weather Service said scattered thunderstorms are possible Friday night into Saturday morning, and storms return Saturday night and again Sunday afternoon and evening. Severe storms are possible Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.
The high will be 80 degrees on Saturday, with temps cooler near the lake. Storms are most likely before 9 a.m. Saturday and late Saturday night, according to the NWS.
Sunday will have a high of 86 degrees, and the highest chance of storms is in the afternoon. The warmer temperatures will also stick around for the start of the work week, and both Monday and Tuesday will be in the 80s, the NWS said.

- SUNDAY: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. Southeast wind around 10 mph becoming south southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
- SUNDAY NIGHT: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 1 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
