Storms, Then A Big Summer Warmup Headed For Illinois

Storms will start the week off on Monday, but temperatures will start to warm as the week goes on. According to the National Weather Service, isolated to scattered thunderstorms are possible overnight into Monday, but severe weather is not expected. On Monday, there is a limited severe thunderstorm risk, and storms are possible in the morning with a break in the afternoon.

Storms, possibly severe, could pick back up again Monday evening, according to the NWS, mainly along and east of I-57.

Skies will be clear on Tuesday, and temperatures will start to warm with a high of 74 degrees. Wednesday will also be clear and will be even warmer with a high of 80 degrees.

According to the NWS, the weather will remain dry and Thursday will be partly sunny with a high near 82. Storms could return on Friday, most likely in the afternoon and evening.
