Student Services Department to Offer Second-Semester 'Strategy Sessions'
The sessions being Jan. 14.

Lemont High School’s Student Services Department will team with the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) to offer a variety of presentations in the second semester. These sessions will be geared towards specific grade levels, and will take place on PLC Wednesdays.
The presentations all will feature ISACorps representative Laura Monteagudo, who already has been on campus this year to assist students with college planning in both group and one-on-one settings.

Taking the Tough Classes (January 14, 2015) – This session is geared towards freshmen and includes tips and strategies for success.
Paving the Road to College (February 18, 2015) – This session is geared towards sophomores and will cover academic criteria and extra-curricular activities, among other topics.

Preparing for Your Senior Year (April 15, 2015) – This session will help juniors as they prepare for standardized tests, and also will discuss college readiness and a season-by-season checklist to prepare for the college admissions cycle.
Headed to College (April 22, 2015) – This session intended for seniors will discuss the differences between the two- and four-year experience and provide relevant advice for both. Other topics will be covered, including important offices on campus, what to bring, basic classroom manners, and how to access help.
ISAC administers scholarship, grant, loan and prepaid tuition programs for the State of Illinois, and is committed to making college accessible and affordable for all Illinois students. The ISACorps is a team of recent college graduates who are trained to serve as near-peer mentors to high school students, helping students and their families navigate the process of applying to and entering college.
