Summer Heat, Humidity Returns To Illinois

ILLINOIS — After one of the coolest days in months, warmth and temperatures near 90 degrees will return to the Chicago area. The National Weather Service said Monday could bring a high of 83 degrees, and some scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible. Storms are also possible Monday night, with stronger storms along and west of I-39.

The humidity will return on Tuesday, as well as the warmth. Tuesday has a high of 91 degrees, with wind gusts as high as 25 mph. The NWS said storms are possible Tuesday night and into Wednesday, which will also be humid and has a high of 90 degrees.

Thursday will again have a chance of storms and the high will be 89 degrees. Friday things will likely cool down, according to the NWS, and the expected high is only 77 degrees.
