Summertime Event Roundup In Lemont

LEMONT, IL — The summer months are officially here, and that means it's time for summer events around Lemont. Whether you're looking for fireworks, concerts, pool events or movie nights, Lemont has it. Here's a look at what's happening around town this summer.

Sunset Soirees

This free summer concert series is held in downtown Lemont by the village of Lemont and the Lemont Park District. All concerts start at 7 p.m.

Car show in downtown Lemont on Wednesday evenings.

Summertime Reads

The Lemont Public Library will read a fun and interactive story at Virginia Reed Park. Treats will follow. There will be events on June 18 and July 23, both starting at 6:30 p.m.

Pack The Park

These events will feature kids games, hot dogs and a movie starting at dusk. The event begins at 7 p.m.

• July 31, "Cars 3" at Centennial Park

Freedom Days

The days before the 4th of July are especially filled with events in Lemont. First up is the Sky High Freedom Fly, which will be held at Centennial Park from 6 to 8 p.m. on June 30. Head out to the park and fly a kite. Children's activities and popsicles are all part of this fun event.

Next up is The All-American Swim, which will be held July 1 from 12 to 6 p.m. at Centennial Outdoor Aquatic Center.The event will include fun games, prizes, music and more.

You can head out to Stars & Stripes Tribute to Our Veterans on July 2 at 6:30 p.m. at Legion Park. Join the Lemont Park District and pay tribute to local veterans.

Get active and sign up for the All-American Basketball Academy Clinic and Tournament at 12:30 p.m. July 2 at the CORE. There will be a free basketball clinic and then stay for the 3-on-3 tournament. Must register for clinic and tournament in advance.

One of the most popular summer events in Lemont is the Independence Day Extravaganza. The event is hosted by the Lemont Park District, Village of Lemont and Lemont Township at 4 p.m. July 3 at Centennial Park. There will be the Foundation Beer Garden; Food Court serving local fare; Enhanced Kids Zone; music from Dick Diamond & The Dusters and fireworks show.

Heritage Fest

The 28th annual Lemont Heritage Fest will be held Saturday, July 14 in downtown Lemont. There is music, food, children's activities and more at the free event.

Pack The Pool

This one-time event features games, prizes and food, as well as free admission to Centennial Pool. It will be held from 12 to 6 p.m. on Aug. 11.
