TeamCITGO Lemont Awarded Volunteer Group Of The Year
MorningStar Mission staff unanimously decided to honor the CITGO Lemont TeamCITGO organization as a whole.

LEMONT, IL — In September, the CITGO Lemont TeamCITGO volunteer organization was awarded the Volunteer Group of the Year by the MorningStar Mission in Joliet at its annual volunteer banquet. According to MorningStar Mission volunteer coordinator Lisa Wainwright, the Volunteer Group of the Year Award is granted to individuals who display an exemplary volunteer spirit, but this year MorningStar Mission staff unanimously decided to honor the CITGO Lemont TeamCITGO organization as a whole.
“CITGO volunteers have a great attitude, and are willing to take on any task. They are consistent, passionate and selfless,” Wainwright said in a release.
TeamCITGO volunteers, the outreach arm of the CITGO Lemont Refinery including employees, contractors, retirees, family and friends, are involved in a variety of programs at MorningStar Mission as well as many community service projects in Lemont and the surrounding areas, according to a release. From serving dinner in the East Side Café, to distributing holiday baskets to the community, organizing birthday parties for the children at the women’s shelter, and serving as mentors for the men’s 180 Program, TeamCITGO volunteers are making a difference.
