50 Degrees, Mild Weekend Ahead: Illinois Weather

Sunday has a high of 50 degrees, and should be dry and sunny.

ILLINOIS — The Chicago area will get a taste of spring this weekend as temperatures shoot up to 50 degrees. The weekend is set to be dry and mostly sunny on both Saturday and Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service, Saturday will have a high of 46 degrees and Sunday will have a high of 50 degrees.

The weather service said Saturday could be windy with gusts up to 20 mph during the day and up to 15 mph at night. Winds will continue into Sunday with gusts up to 20 mph, and there's also a chance of rain late Sunday night.

Sadly, it looks like some wintry weather will move back into the area early next week. There is a chance of snow Monday night, Tuesday and Wednesday, the weather service said.

SATURDAY: Sunny, with a high near 45. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Mostly cloudy during the early evening, then becoming clear, with a low around 31. South southwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

SUNDAY: Mostly sunny, with a high near 50. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

SUNDAY NIGHT: A 20 percent chance of rain after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33.
